The more popular brands and those who first came to market with a 3-D monitor include Samsung, Acer, Asus and Alienware. Viewsonic and LG also have their own offerings.
- For example, Samsung's 2233RZ is a 22" LCD 3-D-Ready monitor that costs about $330.
- Acer's 3-D offering is the 23.6" G Series GD235HZ monitor that costs about $409. Other models include Viewsonic's 22" VX2268wm ($270), the Asus 23" VG236 (about $350) and the Alienware OptX AWS2310 23" 3-D monitor ($400).
- To use these 3-D monitors effectively, an Nvidia 3-D Vision Kit is required to properly outfit a computer to transmit and view 3-D images on a 3-D monitor. The kit costs $150.
