The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar (LOTRO) is a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) based on the novel, The Lord of the Rings, by J. R. R. Tolkien. The game was released commercially on April 24, 2007.

- The Lord of the Rings Online Special Edition retails for $60. It comes with a Making Of DVD, soundtrack, map and an extra item (the "Glass of Aglarel") for an online character.
- Players also need a subscription account. The retail edition comes with 30 days of online play included. Afterwards, subscriptions cost $15 a month or $143.40 a year, according to the Turbine Support Forums.
