Online data backup and recovery, or electronic vaulting, gives your company the ability to automatically backup information and move data to a remote center, ensuring that critical data is stored safely. According to research from TheInfoPro[1] , close to a third of Fortune 1000 companies surveyed use a storage service provider for daily backup.

Typical costs:

  • Online backup companies base their fees on the amount of data stored, typically ranging from 10 to more than 1,000 gigabytes (GB).
  • MediaMax offers 25GB of free online storage and charges $4.95 a month for 100GB.Carbonite offers unlimited storage for $55 a year, and Mozy[2] offers 2 GB of backup at no charge and unlimited storage for $4.95 a month.

I pay $99 USD per year and I get unlimited storage. You pick drives to mirror and it will do real-time uploads of changes or you can copy thing manually via windows explorer. It functions like an external hard disk (can even access it via scripts or scheduled tasks).
